It is also the Gold Medal winner in the American Brown Ale category at the 2010 US Beer Open. In July 2011, we won the Bronze Medal at the 2011 US Beer Open in the American Brown Ale category.

I picked up a six pack of this beer she on Kauai. Mellow smooth beer. This brew is unique and leaves a nice after taste. It now is a toss up between this brew and another one from Tahiti. Wish it was available in California....it would do very well, but will continue to order it. Worth the price.

I visited Duke's at Waikiki this November, and they served ice-cold Hapa Brown Ale on tap. I am a beer snob, and I absolutely loved this ale. Great taste, no aftertaste...a must for lovers of brown ales. Alas! As I write this review in my home state of New Jersey, I see that federal regulations do not allow shipments to my state! Blasted regulations! I shall dream of Hapa Brown Ale until they change federal regulations or until I return to Hawaii...in the meantime I will be saddened to drink lesser ales. Someone change the law!!!!!
